Timber! Donahue and Slavinski Score Maple Gordon places 6th in Pro Division Jones and Horn vow to return Griffin 5:02 yet again, ( 3 years in a row)!
Joe Dx3 = Solid Race Dedicated...Determined...and Diesel powered! Joe D, (pictured above), had the performance of the day swimming 1.2 miles in 30:58, biking 56 miles at 21.4 avg. then running the half marathon in 1:27 for 6:39 pace. Congratulations Joe! Timberman 2008 brought outstanding JSTC AG performances by Dave Slavinski (4th) and Joe Donahue (5th) at beautiful Gilford, NH and Lake Winnipesaukee. Jacqui Gordon finished 6th in the stacked woman's pro division, which saw World IM champ Chrissy Wellington win wire to wire.
Post race Timbermen...Joe, Chris, Brendan and Tim Tim Horn and Brendan Jones raced well in their first Timberman. Don Griffin is Mr. Consistent, finishing in 5:02 for the 3rd year in a row while his bride Sunny PR-ed the course by a whopping 15 minutes!

Chrissy Wellington wins yet again! Timberman 70.3 is 400 miles north of the Jersey Shore and continues to stand out as one of the best run triathlon races and challenging swim/bike/run setting in the nation. The 2009 Timberman will be a JSTC supported event. If you are looking for a challenging 70.3 late summer "A" race or a family oriented sprint triathlon vacation in the lakes region of NH, save this Timberman 2009 link and register early! A Sandy Fogger Still Makes For a Great Day!
Above- Sandy Hooker series athletes wait for the August fog to lift on the swim, but inland dew points left the bike out and made for a day no one thought of when they woke up! Swim-Run and lots of fun! Congrats to Doug and and crew for another great summer series.

Slavinski 1st Amateur at Wilkes-Barre Jones Wins AG, 4th OA White 2nd in Clydesdale Division
Dave Slavinski, Bill White and Brendan Jones after a drive to the PA hardware store at one of our regions richest in triathlon history race settings...and extremely challenging as well! Mixing a little tri talk with Bruce tracks on a 3 hour trip to Wilkes-Barre PA, Dave, Brendan and Bill set out to score and keep the tradition of the Jersey Shore being represented at the 27th Annual Wilkes-Barre Triathlon. 3 for 3 in awards, including Dave Slavinski claiming first overall amateur, made Interstate 80 East a joy ride home for The Jersey Shore contingent. Congratulations Dave, Brendan and Bill. Thanks for keeping up the tradition!

Lighter Than Air...Faster than a Hornet Lots of fun at the 18th annual 2008 Lakehurst Naval Air Base "Lighter Than Air" duathlon. Congrats to newlywed Tim Horn on AG victory, and Mark Catalano for 2nd in his AG.

The future is bright...Husband James better build a bigger trophy case for Melissa Melissa Cardillo has been placing AG all year in the smaller tri series around the state. So when she stepped up to CGI Racing's New Jersey State Sprint in the middle of Philly and New York, so did the competition level. Suzanne Huelster stands proud and completes the JSTC's sweep of men/women top honors at the 2008 New Jersey State Triathlon. Suzanne finished the Olympic distance course in 2:10:34 for overall victory. Congratulations Suzanne! Sue (above hanging at the swim start) has dominated NJ and national duathlon for years. She worked hard on her swimming the last 14 months to emerge as a triathlon champion!

Jersey Shore Tri Club member and run coach, Dave Slavinski, breaks the tape and claims title to being the overall winner of the 2008 New Jersey State Triathlon. Congratulations to Dave and the entire Slavinski support team! Once again, CGI Racing's Larry and Michelle Redrow ran a fantastic event. The NJ State Tri continues to get bigger and better each year. Thanks to all the volunteers and staff that make this race the premier triathlon event in the Garden State.

Ocean Grove Biathlon Washakowski Wins Age Group Mike Washakowski ran and swam his way to a 19:08 AG victory in the 50-59 category at Saturdays Ocean Grove Biathlon. Bob Horn went 4th OA in 15:17 and also won the 30-39 AG. Congratulations to Mike and Bob for a strong showing, and to RD Tina Duda and the JSRC for a great event! Newbie Margaret Hartman sprinted to a top 10 finish in her first race Huelster Wins Sprint, Farragher 5th World Duathlon AG champ and JSTC member Suzanne Huelster dominated yesterdays riptide duathlon (aka MetroMan) and went wire to wire to take top women's honors and 2nd OA in the field. Laurie Farragher had a great race, finishing 5th and missing 2nd by just 41 seconds. Hartman, Pfeifer, and Rullo rounded out the top 15.

Rhode Island 70.3 Report Slavinski 10th Overall! 2nd Amatuer Dave Slavinski debuted on the Ironman 70.3 circuit with a 4:10:57, beating 15 pro triathletes and sending him to the World Championship in Clearwater this November! Congratulations Dave! Donahue rolls to Clearwater Worlds! Joe D. (40-44), joins Dave in heading to The World Championship Ironman 70.3. JD ran 1:28 off the bike in hilly Providence to go 4:37 and secure a return trip to Clearwater.
